ABOUT

Stephen DeBye

For the nearly ten years I’ve been practicing law, I have worked for someone else. Now I work for myself and I have never been happier. I became a lawyer to help people not to obsess over billable hours and paperwork. My goal is to provide top-notch legal representation that is efficient, cost-effective and, most of all, personal and caring.

I grew up near Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from Malden High School in 1996 I joined the United States Air Force in September of 1996. After basic training in San Antonio and technical school in Wichita Falls, I was stationed in San Antonio at Lackland, AFB. This is where my love affair with the great state of Texas began. I loved the weather. I loved the food. I loved the culture. But most of all, I loved the wonderful people of Texas. Unfortunately, in 2000 the Air Force decided it was time for me to leave San Antonio and I was sent to Frankfurt, Germany where I stayed for three years. All in all, I served six years in the Air Force.

During the last two years of my military service, I had begun taking college correspondence courses. By the time I left, I had nearly two years of my undergrad completed. In 2002 I returned to Boston used my GI Bill to attend the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I also worked a full-time night job driving a bread delivery truck. In 2004 I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in political science where I was accepted into the International Honour Society and recognized for distinguished work in the political science department.

At that time I knew I wanted to return to Texas so in 2006 I moved to Waco and began law school at Baylor University. I have been in Central Texas ever since. My wife, Alpha, and I live in Belton with our two kids—Lily and Levi. I am a member of the Temple South Rotary Club and attend church at Foundation United Methodist Church in Temple. Other than family and church, my focus is on representing you, so give me a call!
